Hi All,
Next Tue. 3/10 will be our next den meeting from 6:30pm-7:30pm at the LCC. At our last meeting we had a discussion about what the boys are interested in doing between now and when they complete cub scouts..One of the things a number of boys wanted to do is a hike. So, for anyone who is around Easter Weekend, Sat. April 11th, the den will have a day hike on the Finger Lakes Trail. Details will follow but I anticipate we will leave from the LCC at 9:30am and return sometime between 1:30pm-2:30pm. My father, a former scoutmaster and this weekend he will be celebrating his 75th birthday, and brother will accompany us.
At next Tuesday's den meeting the boys are going to bring their instruments and each boy is going to play one song from memory in their Standard of Excellence Instrument Book. We also will be making puppets. These are requirements for the Showman Activity Badge. The boys were asked to listen to four genres of music by the next den meeting. This is part of the music belt loop which the boys will earn or do again as part of the Showman Activity Badge.
As many of you know baseball will begin in April after the break. This will not directly impact our meetings, the boys will play on Monday and Wednesday but I am committed to helping coach Ryan's team which will play on Tuesday and Thursday nights. In May, I am wondering if our two den meetings could be held on Thursdays after school from 4pm-5pm. Please give me feedback on this. There is some time to work this out but I wanna get a solution by April..

Hi Parents,
I wanted to take time to update you on a number of things.
1. The reading program is going to be a great experience for everyone involve!. The library director, Suzi, is excited about the program and the boys were given great training. I have the final schedule
attached. I had to switch Ben and Jesse but everyone else is in the same time slot.
Some clarification for parents:
1. Your son only has to show for his assigned date.
2. Please have him arrive at the library by 9:50am, in uniform on the day he is scheduled to read.
3. The first two readers have their books, the packet of four books will be ready at the front desk at the library two weeks prior to the scheduled date to read. Please pick these up and have your son
practice reading the stories.
4. The boys need to choose either three of the books in the packet or if they have a favorite children's book they would like to read this can be one of the choices.
2. I want to thank you for those that paid for either the Blue & Gold or the MOST trip last night.
3. The list below is what I have the boys receiving at the Blue & Gold (Please go over this with your son and notify me by Monday, 2/16 if anything is incorrect) I will be waiting until all the boys
have completed their reading to award the Citizenship badge. My goal is for the boys to complete the Fitness, Scholar, and Showman by the end of the year. This will give all boys enough badges to
complete their Webelos rank (need 4 badges and two must be Citizenship and Fitness). Some boys will have as many as 7 badges
Luke F Readyman, Sportsman
Ben H Readyman, Sportsman Computer Belt Loop
Phineus H Readyman Computer Belt Loop
Sean O Readyman
Jesse R Sportsman Computer Belt Loop
Nico S Sportsman
Ryan W Sportsman
4. I gave the boys work to complete on the Fitness Activity badge. This is going to take help from you also. Please complete requirements 2,5,6,7 with your sons prior to our next den meeting March 3rd.
In their books the boys need to read pages 11-18. To have a meaningful discussion you may find it helpful to read pages 2- the top of 11. The boys also need to read 247-258 in their books.
On their own they should do requirements 3 and 4.
5. Finally, I want to make everyone aware the last couple of meetings have not gone well from the standpoint of discipline. I am not going to point fingers at any one individual but the boys feed off each
other. I think one of the problems is working on these activity badges is like school to the boys so they have trouble focusing. For the rest of the year I am going to shorten our den meetings to 1 hour
scheduling from 6:30pm-7:30pm. Please discuss this with your son and if you get any feedback which is helpful to me I would appreciate you sharing it.
-Thanks, Brad

Hi Parents,
First, I want to thank you for helping to move everything along for our den meetings by getting the boys there as soon as possible and being on time to pick-up. Next, the boys and the leaders have had fun completing activity badges and working on learning the Boy Scout Laws, Motto, Slogan, and Outdoor Code, they worked hard the last three weeks.
We are looking forward to Ben, Colter, and Sean joining us in the future. I also want to welcome Phineus to our den, his older brothers are in Lansing Troop 48!
Last, I want to update our den meeting schedule. There will be NO DEN MTG. OCT. 7. The upcoming den meetings are October 14 and October 28. Mark Wheeler will be taking all the boys through the Geology Badge.
In November, on Wednesday, November 5th at 6:30pm, I will start Readyman for Ethan, Luke, Ben, Phineus, Sean and Colter. We will complete this over the next two weeks (Nov.12th and 19th)

Hi Parents,
First, it has been brought to my attention there still is going to be
a problem for some boys to attend meetings on Tuesday night once
football and soccer is done. If this is the case with you please let me
know by replying to this email. Second, parents do not stay for the
Webelos meetings. We will start promptly at 6:30pm and finish right at
8pm. Finally, at this level we don't do snack.
Reminder for those working ion the Readyman please read the whole badge
by tomorrow night. We will be working on giving first aid in hurried
cases. The other boys will be working on the Handyman so please read
this. For every boy please look over the scout law, motto, slogan and
outdoor code in your Webelos book.
We will again s[pend a little time working on these.
/The first pack meeting is Friday night at All Saints at 6:30pm./
-Thanks, Brad

Hi Parents,
Based on feedback I received from some of you I am changing the initial groups because boys who cannot make scouts at the start of the year. I apologize but the only night I can do scouts is Tuesday. Wednesday I coached travel soccer and my boys have commitments every other night. /Please inform me, /if you already haven't if your son cannot attend Tuesday night at 6:30pm in either September or October. I know of three boys with conflicts: Sean, Colter and Ryan. I am starting Readyman with Group II and Javier Streb is doing Traveler and Handyman with Group I. Readyman is a required activity badge so at some point in this year or next fall with the new Web I's I will get the badge done with those who miss it.
