Beltloops Katrina Overton Wednesday, January 7, 2009 12:08:13 PM To:Burt ; Coleman ; Coleman2 ; Hern ; Richardson ; Roberts ; Webmaster Cc:Sue & Doug Caveney Tigers, Hopefully the information regarding beltloops helped answer some questions but I did get a few more that I thought IÕd answer for everyone. Awards (like beltloops) and rank badges are paid for by the Pack. We give a max of 2 beltloops per month and they are earned from activities that have been accomplished this school year. If a scout earns swimming this year and again next year, heÕll get the metal beltloop awarded the first year and a mini certificate the next year. Some of Webelos IIs have earned soccer or baseball all 5 years theyÕve been in Cub Scouts. The beltloop is easily completed with 3-4 basic requirements. The pin takes more effort/time to earn. Parents determine when a scout has met the requirements. When your son completes a beltloop or pin, just drop me an email or let Virginia know and sheÕll pass it along to me. I usually order awards 1-2 weeks before each Pack meeting. If we miss it this month, weÕll have it ready for next monthÕs meeting. Working on beltloops or Electives found in the back of the Tiger book are both great activities for you and your scout to work on at home but are also completely optional. Again the website to find the complete listing of beltloop/pin requirements is: http://www.usscouts.org/advance/cubscout/a-sindex.asp Let me know if your scout has earned any that I should purchase for this month. Thanks, Katrina
